What do you think the man in this photo is dreaming about? Go ahead, take a guess. Maybe a delicious meal he had the night before, maybe about a big conference call he has that day, or maybe his wife’s younger sister who is on the cheerleading squad at UCLA. Yup, judging by the look on his face I think we’re getting warmer. And by the looks of it this poor guy is not going to be happy with the way technology is progressing.
A new Japanese research team “has successfully processed and displayed images directly from the human brain…they said the technology could eventually be used to display dreams.” Great, now everybody will know about my secret crush on Condolezza Rice.
The article contains the caption, “Sweet dreams? Scientists could soon be able to watch them on a screen.” I think this will be great for relationships! Hey honey, not to pry, but can you tell me why in your dream last night you were chasing me around the kitchen with a chainsaw screaming about the five dogs I made you adopt?
This story is Good News for:
1. Jealous People – Hey, now if you think your loved one is cheating on you, hook ’em up and find out. What’s that? They were doing what with a goat? Maybe that wasn’t such a good idea after all.
2. Annoying Dream Describers – If you are one of those people who thinks that your dream last night was the most important thing in the world and have to describe every detail of it to all your friends then this is the absolute greatest news ever. Now you can turn your dream descriptions into a PowerPoint presentation. That won’t be annoying!
3. China – You think China is like Big Brother now? Please, in five years they’ll have everyone hooked up to one of these machines and arrest people for even dreaming about having 2 babies.
