Have a camera? Have an internet connection? Know you’re destined to be a star despite what every acting coach has told you? Then, hey, maybe you too can make a living from posting videos on YouTube!
It has come to light that many people are making a living simply from posting videos on YouTube. Now, “One year after YouTube, the online video powerhouse, invited members to become “partners” and added advertising to their videos, the most successful users are earning six-figure incomes from the Web site.” Six figures to post innane videos on YouTube?! I know you’re upset, but just remember – Carson Daly gets paid more than that and is less talented. That video is 10x more entertaining than anything Daly has ever done.
A certain Michael Buckley, who reports making over $100k/yr from YouTube doing a celebrity show said, “writing and recording five minutes’ worth of jokes about Britney Spears’s comeback tour and Miley Cyrus’s dancing abilities is not as easy as it looks.” He’s right. So much so that a quick search for Britney Spears comeback tour results in oh, about, half a million blogs who made jokes about it. But I’m sure his material is much more high-brow.
This story is Good News for:
1. You – yes, You. Hey, all you need is a video camera, the internet and some Britney Spears jokes and you’re well on the way to a 6 figure income without getting off the couch.
2. Advertisers – Before, they had no way of getting to us while we watched online videos. It was a safe haven where we could watch YouTube videos in peace. But now, advertisers have found a way to infiltrate, they always do.
