Chairman and CEO of Merrill Lynch, John Thain, apparently is unaware of the current economic times. Hey, I never read newspapers, am completely socially isolated at most times and am barely literate, yet even I know that now is not the best time to fight for a $10million bonus.
Said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, “While American families struggle to keep their jobs and their homes, I question the chutzpah of asking for a $10 million taxpayer-subsidized bonus”. Couldn’t have said it better myself, Har, this guy sure has some chutzpah on him.
This is good news for greedy CEOs everywhere. If the Merrill Lynch CEO is fighting for a $10million bonus, maybe I won’t look so bad requesting that $6.5million bonus now. CEOs across the nation rejoice, John Thain is fighting your battle.
